Equation dialog box – Visual tab
Insert > Multimedia > Equation
You can insert an equation by using the equation dialog box. To do this, click on a mathematical symbol you wish to insert from the dialog box. Some symbols when clicked show a drop-down menu that has further related symbols.
The equation you have made will become an image and will then be inserted into the cursor location. You cannot resize the equation image in the edit window. If you would like to resize, double-click on the image to open the Equation dialog box, and use the magnifier

To exit superscript or subscript mode, press the space bar or the right arrow key.
