Suggests corrections for misspelled words and offers other spelling-related functions. If the spell checker finds an apparently misspelled word, the word is highlighted in the Edit window, and the Spelling Check dialog box appears.

Incorrect word

The word that is apparently misspelled. (The word could not be found in the active spelling dictionaries.)

Change to

The text that will replace the misspelled word if Change or Change All is clicked. This text box is initially filled with the first word in the list of suggested corrections (see below), but you can enter anything you like.

Suggestions

The closest matches to the misspelled word that could be found in the active spelling dictionaries. Click any word in the list to place it in the Change to text box.

User dictionary

If you have multiple user dictionaries, you can select the active one using this menu.

Buttons

Ignore

Continues the spell check, leaving the apparently misspelled word alone.

Ignore All

Continues the spell check, ignoring this and all other occurrences of the apparently misspelled word. However, the apparently incorrect word is not added to the user dictionary; the word will again be flagged as incorrect the next time you run spell checking.

Change

Replaces the misspelled word with the text in the Change to text box and continues the spell check.

Change All

Replaces all occurrences of the misspelled word in the document with the text in the Change to text box, and continues the spell check.

Add

Adds the apparently misspelled word to the user dictionary. Words added to the user dictionary will be considered correct whenever you run spell checking in the future. Note that different forms of the same word, such as different verb tenses, must be added to the user dictionary individually, since the user dictionary contains no base form of the word from which variations can be recognized.

Suggest

If you type a word in the Change to text box and click Suggest, if Namo WebEditor does not recognize the word you typed, it will show a list of closest matches to the typed word in Suggestions.

Document Top

Restarts the spell check from the top of the document.

User Dictionary

Opens the User Dictionary dialog box, where you can add or remove words from the user dictionary.

Close

Closes the Spelling Check dialog box, terminating the spell check.

Namo Web Editor icon note Spelling Check dialog boxYou can undo a correction even while the Spelling Check dialog box is still open by clicking the Undo button on the Standard Toolbar. Multiple corrections can be undone (one a time) once the spell check is finished by using Undo repeatedly.
