Style dialog box – Borders & Background tab
Document > Border Format
(border selection box)
Select the borders to modify. To select multiple borders, click each while holding down the Ctrl key.
Select All (button)
Selects all the borders.
Properties
Style
Specifies the style of the selected border(s). The various styles are described below.
- None: No border.
- Dotted: A dotted line. This style correctly appears only on a Macintosh with Internet Explorer 4.01 or higher. In Windows browsers, it is rendered as a solid border.
- Dashed: A dashed line. This style correctly appears only on a Macintosh with Internet Explorer 4.01 or higher. In Windows browsers, it is rendered as a solid border.
- Solid: A solid line.
- Double: A double solid line. The page’s background color or image is visible between the two lines.
- Groove: A beveled effect, like a picture frame lit from one corner. Uses two colors: gray and white.
- Ridge: Similar to Groove, except uses gray and black as the highlight colors.
- Inset: A beveled effect that makes the paragraph appear sunken, below the rest of the page.
- Outset: A beveled effect that makes the paragraph appear raised, above the rest of the page.
Examples:
Color
Specify the color of the selected border(s).
Width
Specify the width of the selected border(s).
Margin
Specify the amount of space outside the selected border(s).
Padding
Specify the amount of space inside the selected border(s).
Background
Image
Specify the path of an image file to use as a background image. Click Browse to locate a local image file.
Options
Opens the Background Image Options dialog box.
Color
Specify a background color.
