Adjusting brightness, contrast, and sharpness
To adjust an image’s brightness, contrast or sharpness
- Select the image you want to adjust.
- Click the Layout tab, go to Effect, and then click Image Effects to open the Image Effects dialog box.
- On the toolbar, click any of the following buttons:
- (Lighten)
- (Darken)
- (Increase Contrast)
- (Decrease Contrast)
- (Sharpen)
- (Blur)
- Click OK.
- In the Save as box, enter the path and file name under which to save the modified image. Initially, the box contains the original image’s path and file name; if you want to replace the original image file, leave the path and file name unchanged.
- Under Save format, select the desired image format.
- Click OK.
When you click more than one of these buttons, or the same button more than once, the effects are cumulative.
