Image Effects dialog box

Image Layout > Image Effects

You can apply various retouching and special effects such as Frame, Drop Shadow, and Bevel effect on the image. You can also clip or resize the image as well as insert the text.

Brightness, Contrast, and Sharpness

Adjusting the brightness

Click Lighten Namo Web Editor button pic lighten Image Effects dialog box or Darken Namo Web Editor button pic darken Image Effects dialog box to adjust brightness of the image by degrees. Clicking Namo Web Editor button pic lighten Image Effects dialog box makes the image brighter while clicking Namo Web Editor button pic darken Image Effects dialog box makes the image darker.

Adjusting the contrast

Click Increase Contrast Namo Web Editor button pic increase contrast Image Effects dialog box or Decrease Contrast Namo Web Editor button pic decrease contrast Image Effects dialog box to adjust the color contrast of the image by degrees. Clicking Namo Web Editor button pic increase contrast Image Effects dialog box makes the image increase its contrast while clicking Namo Web Editor button pic decrease contrast Image Effects dialog box makes the image decrease its contrast.

Adjusting the sharpness

Click Sharpen Namo Web Editor button pic sharpen Image Effects dialog box or Blur Namo Web Editor button pic blur Image Effects dialog box to adjust the sharpness of the image by degrees. Clicking Namo Web Editor button pic blur Image Effects dialog box makes the image blurry while clicking Namo Web Editor button pic sharpen Image Effects dialog box sharpens the image.

Rotate and Flip

Rotate Left

Click Rotate Left Namo Web Editor button pic rotate left Image Effects dialog box to rotate an image 90 degrees counterclockwise.

Rotate Right

Click Rotate Right Namo Web Editor button pic rotate right Image Effects dialog box to rotate an image 90 degrees clockwise.

Flip Vertical

Click Flip Vertical Namo Web Editor button pic flip vertical Image Effects dialog box to flip an image upside down.

Flip Horizontal

Click Flip Horizontal Namo Web Editor button pic flip hr Image Effects dialog box to flip an image left-side right.

Image Effects

Frame

Click Frame Namo Web Editor button pic frame Image Effects dialog box to apply various frame effects to the image.

Bevel Effect

Click Bevel Effect Namo Web Editor button pic bevel Image Effects dialog box to apply various bevel effects to the image. The image looks bulged after you have applied this effect.

Drop Shadow

Click Drop Shadow Namo Web Editor button pic shadow Image Effects dialog box to apply various shadow effects the an image.

Zoom

Select the drop-down menus of Zoom Namo Web Editor button pic zoom Image Effects dialog box to increase or decrease the magnification of the image.

Crop and Resize

Crop

Click Crop Namo Web Editor button pic crop Image Effects dialog box and then drag the cropping handles at the corners and sides of the image, or enter the new size in pixels manually in the Width and Height boxes. You can control the roundness of the crop area using the Roundness slider: Namo Web Editor button pic rect Image Effects dialog box. You can control the sharpness or blurriness of the crop border using the Feather control: Namo Web Editor button pic feather Image Effects dialog box.

Resize

Click Resize Namo Web Editor button pic resize Image Effects dialog box and then drag the resize handles at the corners and sides of the image, or enter the new size in pixels manually in the Width and Height boxes.

Drawing

Text

You can type the text over the image. Click Namo Web Editor button pic text Image Effects dialog boxand specify the font, size, color and other settings in the Add Text dialog box.

Draw Line

Click Namo Web Editor button pic drawline Image Effects dialog box to draw a line on the image. Select a line thickness from the options at the bottom of the tool palette and choose a color by clicking the Stroke color box. Then, click and drag on the image to draw the line.

Draw Circle

Click Namo Web Editor button pic drawcircle Image Effects dialog box to draw a circle on the image. Select a style from the options at the bottom of the tool palette:

  • Namo Web Editor button pic stroke only Image Effects dialog box Draw stroke only (no fill)
  • Namo Web Editor button pic stroke and fill Image Effects dialog box Draw stroke and fill
  • Namo Web Editor button pic fill only Image Effects dialog box Draw fill only (no stroke)

Click the Stroke and/or Fill color boxes to select the stroke and/or fill color. Then, click and drag on the image to draw the circle.

Draw Square

Click Namo Web Editor button pic drawsquare Image Effects dialog box to draw a rectangle on the image. The options are the same as for drawing a circle (see above).

Pen

Click Namo Web Editor button pic pencil Image Effects dialog box to draw a thin, freehand line on the image. Click the Stroke color box to select a color, and then click and drag on the image to draw the line.

Brush

Click Namo Web Editor button pic brush Image Effects dialog box to draw with a freehand brush on the image. Select a brush shape from the options at the bottom of the tool palette and choose a color by clicking the Stroke color box. Then, click and drag on the image to draw the brush stroke.

Eraser

Click Namo Web Editor button pic eraser Image Effects dialog box to erase an area of the image. Select the eraser shape from the options at the bottom of the tool palette and then click and drag on the image to erase the desired area. The erased area will be filled with the color selected in the Background color box.

Other buttons

Accept Crop/Resize

Click Accept Crop/Resize Namo Web Editor button pic ok Image Effects dialog box to complete the Crop or Resize task.

Cancel Crop/Resize

Click Cancel Crop/Resize Namo Web Editor button pic cancel Image Effects dialog box to cancel the Crop or Resize task.

Undo

Click Undo Namo Web Editor button pic undo Image Effects dialog box to cancel the last action.

Redo

Click Redo Namo Web Editor button pic redo Image Effects dialog box to redo the previously undone action.

Reset

Click Reset to cancel all the effect applied to the image and take the image back to the original state.

Background color

Transparent

If you have applied shadow effects to an image or cropped an image in a non-rectangular shape, you can set the background as transparent by checking Transparent. To use the Transparent option, the image file format must be GIF or PNG, which support transparent background.

Background (BG)

Specifies the background color of the image .If you have checked Transparent, the background color is ignored.

Image/Brightness/Contrast/Sharpness

Shows the current image information on its size, brightness, contrast, and sharpness.
