Performing table calculations
Namo WebEditor can perform a calculation on numerical values in a table and automatically insert the result in an empty cell. The available calculations are: sum, average, maximum, minimum, number of cells in selection, number of non-empty cells in selection, variance, and standard deviation.
To perform a calculation
- Select at least three adjacent cells, all in the same row or column. At least one of the cells must contain a number, and the last (right-most or bottom-most) cell must be empty.
- Do one of the following:
-
- Right-click any selected cell, point to Calculations, and then click the calculation you want to perform.
- On the Layout menu, go to Convert and Calculate, click Calculations, and then click the calculation you want to perform.
The result of the calculation will be inserted into the empty cell at the end of the selection.
The result of a sum calculation is inserted in the last selected cell.
You can also perform a calculation without selecting any cells. Just right-click any cell in a row or column in which the last cell is empty, point to Calculations, and then click the calculation you want to perform. Namo WebEditor will ask you whether to perform the calculation on the row or the column. The result will be calculated from the entire row or column.
The calculations Number of Cells in Selection and Number of Non-Empty Cells in Selection do not include the last selected cell.
