Layer ID

Shows the name of the layer. A layer is automatically assigned a name by Namo WebEditor at the time of creation. You can change the name as long as the new name doesn’t conflict with the name of another layer.

Position and Size

Left

Specifies an absolute offset from the left edge of the window, in pixels, without regard to other elements.

Right

Specifies an absolute offset from the right edge of the window, in pixels, without regard to other elements.

Don’t specify horizontal position

The layer’s horizontal position will be the same as if it were an ordinary, non-positioned element. However, the layer will still not affect the position of any content after it.

Top

Specifies an absolute offset from the top edge of the window, in pixels, without regard to other elements.

Bottom

Specifies an absolute offset from the bottom edge of the window, in pixels, without regard to other elements.

Don’t specify vertical position

The layer’s vertical position will be the same as if it were an ordinary, non-positioned element. However, the layer will still not affect the position of any content after it.

Width

Specifies the width of the layer, in pixels.

Height

Specifies the height of the layer, in pixels.

Visibility

Specifies the visibility of the layer.

  • Default: The visibility is not specified. Initially, the layer will be visible.
  • Inherit: The layer inherits its visibility from its parent layer, if any.
  • Show: The layer will be visible.
  • Hide: The layer will be hidden, even in Edit mode. To select a hidden layer in the document window, click the layer tag mark: Namo Web Editor mark layer Layer Properties dialog box.

Z-index

A layer’s z-index determines whether it is in front of or behind other overlapping layers. To bring a layer to the front, simply assign a higher z-index to it. To send it to the back, assign it a lower z-index. If two layers have the same z-index, the one that was created later will be in front.

Background

Image

Enter a path or URL to an image file to use as the layer’s background.

  • Click Namo Web Editor button browse Layer Properties dialog box (Browse) to find and select an image file on your local file systemThe collection of drives and network folders connected to your computer..
  • Click Namo Web Editor button clip art Layer Properties dialog box (Clip Art) to select an image from the clip art library.
  • Click Namo Web Editor button site Layer Properties dialog box (Site) to select from a list of image files belonging to the current local site (if one is open).

Color

Allows you to select a background color for the layer from the Color Palette. If not specified, the layer will appear transparent.

Buttons

Style

Click and select:

  • Character: to modify the item’s character-level style properties
  • Paragraph: to modify the item’s paragraph-level style properties
  • Borders & Background: to modify the item’s border and background-related style properties

Script Wizard

Click to open the Script Wizard dialog box, where you can attach a JavaScript effect to the layer. Four effects are available for layers: Animation effect, Marquee, Sliding layer, and Floating layer.
