Specified text can be found in the current document or all open documents, optionally replacing the found text with other specified text.
Find
Enter the text you wish to locate, or use the drop-down menu to select from strings used in previous Find operations.
Replace with
Enter the text that will replace the Find text, or use the drop-down menu to select from strings used in previous Replace operations. If you used the Edit > Find command rather than Edit > Replace to open this dialog box, you can enable the check box here to enter replacement text.
Options
Match case
Searches only for occurrences that have the same case as the specified Find text.
Example: If the Find text is ‘Interactive’, ‘interactive’ will be ignored.
Match whole words only
Searches only for whole-word occurrences of the Find text.
Example: If the Find text is ‘ball’, ‘football’ will be ignored.
Match in hyperlinks only
Searches for occurrences of the Find text in the URLs of hyperlinks only.
Match full-/half- width
Distinguishes between full-width and half-width Asian double-byte characters. (Has no effect when searching Western text.)
Direction and range
Up
Searches upward starting from the current insertion point. Searching stops when the top of the document is reached.
Down
Search downward starting from the current insertion point. Searching stops when the bottom of the document is reached.
Start at top of document
Starts searching from the top of the document, regardless of the location of the current insertion point. (The entire document will be searched.)
Search all open documents
Searches all open documents, including the current document. Searching begins with the document that was opened first.
Buttons
Find Next
Searches for the next match of the text entered in the Find text box. To continue searching, click Find Next.
Replace
Replaces the found text with the text in the Replace with text box.
Replace All
Replaces all found texts at once. All the text entered in the Find text box will be replaced with the text specified in the Replace with text box.
