Custom Toolbar

Commands that can’t be found in the menus or tool groups can be added to user-defined custom toolbars.

So that tasks can be completed more efficiently, Namo WebEditor’s menus and tool groups are composed giving priority to often-used commands. Commands that can’t be found in the menus or tool groups can be used through user-defined custom toolbars.

You can create new toolbars of your own that are composed of tools and buttons that you use often.

  1. Press the Customize Quick Access Toolbar button.

  2. In the drop-down menu, click More Commands.
  3. In the Customize dialog box, click Toolbars.
  1. Click New.
  2. In the New Toolbar dialog box, enter the new toolbar’s name and click OK.

  3. The new toolbar will appear below the ribbon menu.

  4. In the Commands tab, select a command.
  5. Click and drag the command with the mouse from the dialog box to the new toolbar.

  6. Add more commands in the same manner.

  7. When all the commands have been added, click Close.

To remove a custom toolbar

  1. Click the small down arrow next to the custom toolbar, point to Add or Remove Buttons and then click Customize.
  2. In the Customize dialog box, click the name of the toolbar you want to remove.
  3. Click Delete and then click Close.

The following features are not displayed on the ribbon menu and must be used by adding them to the user’s custom toolbar.

View > Image

Allows you to view or not view certain types of images in the Edit window. You can choose whether or not to view normal images, background images and GIF animations. This does not affect the appearance of the page on the web browser.

View > Marks > Show All

Select Show All to display all formatting marks and object marks.

View > Document Outline

The Document Outline creates a table of contents to the left of the Edit window by using text that is designated as Header 1 through Header 6. Press Alt+3 to execute this command quickly.

Insert > Media > Real Player, Shockwave, MIDI

Inserts Real Player, Shockwave and MIDI files.

Insert > Floating Box

Inserts a floating box. A floating box is an area inside a box that includes content.

Insert > Symbol

Insert various symbols such as KS symbols, Unicode symbols, etc. Press Ctrl+F7 to use this command quickly.

Insert > SSI

Inserts SSI commands. SSI stand for Server Side Includes. This is a script language which operates from the web server, unlike JavaScript. Because the content is first interpreted on the server and then sent to the web browser, visitors to your website cannot see the SSI commands in a document.

Insert > Other

Insert other items such as the time & date, HTML documents, etc.

Format > Line Break

Breaks a line at the point where the cursor is inserted.

Format > Page Break

Performs a page break where the cursor is.

Table > Caption

Inserts a table caption. Table captions are used to distinguish between several inserted tables or to inform the viewer of a table’s content.

Tools > Auto Correct

Runs the Auto Correct function. The Auto Correct function uses registered correction items to catch when invalid expressions or phrases are entered.

Tools > Key Macro

Executes the Key Macro Function. Key Macros record often repeated series of tasks and allow them to be done in one step. When a key macro is used, the repeated tasks can be performed together as a group. By pressing a key in the Key Macro, the defined tasks are peformed and input related to mouse movement is not recorded.

Tools > Quick Insert

Executes the Quick Insert function. Quick Insert is a feature that allows the user to define short words and phrases and have WebEditor expand them into longer phrases and sentences. For example, the user could set the short word as “Dear” and the longer phrase as “Dear Madam or Sir”. Then, when the user types “Dear” in the Edit window and presses Ctrl+=, the corresponding phrase “Dear Madam or Sir” appears.

Tools > Change Character Format

Changes the properties of the characters entered into the Edit window. The case of English letters can be changed and Japanese can be changed between Hiragana and Katakana. Also, broken characters with invalid encoding information can be fixed so that they appear correctly.

Window > Arrange Icons

Arranges minimized document icons towards the center

Window > Window List

Shows a list of all open documents.
