Remote Site Settings dialog box
Namo Menu > Publish > Remote Sites – Modify/Delete, Site Manager window – File > Remote Sites – Add/Modify, Publish Widow – File > Remote Sites – Add/Modify
Site name
Enter or edit the name for the remote site profile.
Type
- FTP: Select FTP if you will connect to the remote site through FTP. This is appropriate in most cases.
- Win32: Select Win32 only if the remote site is located on a local drive or a local network folder and you want to use the Windows file copy method instead of FTP to communicate with it.
FTP information
This group of controls appears if you select FTP in the Type box.
Host name
Enter the hostname or static IP address of the FTP server that hosts the remote site. For example, “ftp.namo.com” or “192.168.2.44″. Do not include “ftp://” in front of the hostname.
Port
Specify the port number to use when connecting to the FTP server. The default value, 21, should work in most cases.
Directory
Enter the path of the directory on the FTP server that contains or will contain the remote site. On public Unix/Linux servers, this is often “/public_html”. If you’re not sure what the right directory is, ask your network administrator or Web Hosting Provider.
User name
Enter your login ID for the FTP server. Select the Anonymous check box if you want to log in anonymously.
Password
Enter your login password. You can leave this blank if you are logging in anonymously or if you don’t want Namo WebEditor to remember your password. (In this case, you will be prompted to enter your password every time you connect to the server.)
Passive mode
Usually this option needs to be selected if you are behind a network firewall or gateway. If you’re not sure, ask your network administrator.
Local/network information
This group of controls appears if you select Win32 in the Type box.
Path
Enter the file system path of the folder that contains or will contain the remote site. For example, “C:\wwwroot\” or “\\MARKETING\Web\Henry”. (The trailing backslash is optional.)
HTTP Information
URL
Enter the URL used to access the Web site in a browser. This information is used by Namo WebEditor when you save a document directly to the site using the Save As command. For example, “http://www.namo.com/”.
