HSV

(gradient box)

Shows a gradient of colors that have the same hue but different saturation and brightness values. Select the color that you want by dragging the cross-shaped pointer, or just by clicking on the color. The selected color is shown in the color preview.

(color spectrum)

Shows various hues. Select the hue by clicking inside the bar, or slide the color selector with the mouse. When the selector moves, the colors in the gradient box and the color preview change.

Web Safe Colors Only

Confines the colors to the 216 Web-safe colors.

H/S/V boxes

Indicate the hue, saturation, and brightness values of the selected color in the range 0 to 255. You can enter a number directly to specify the color.

RGB

(bars)

Shows the red, green, and blue intensity values visually. You can slide the selectors to specify the RGB values.

R/G/B boxes

Indicate the red, green, and blue intensity values of the selected color in the range 0 to 255. You can enter a value directly to specify the color.

HTML

HTML box

Shows the hexademical code for the current color. You can enter a value directly to select the color.

Name box

You can enter the name of a Web-safe color here to select the color.

Click the button and then click again anywhere within the Smart ClipArt Editor window to “pick” a color from the screen.
