Color

In this section, you control the color transitions of the gradient. Initially, a gradient has just one color transition, indicated by the presence of two handles under the slider. You can add more transitions by clicking under the slider. To remove a transition, drag a handle all the way to the left or right end of the slider. The spacing of the handles controls the length of the transitions. Each handle controls the color at one end of a transition; double-click the handle to set its color.

The Location box shows the exact location of the active handle along the slider’s length. The Color box shows a preview of the active handle’s color; you can click it to change the color.

Transparency

In this section, you control the opacity transitions of the gradient. The operation is similar to the Color section, except that each handle on the slider controls an opacity level instead of a color. Use the Opacity box to set the opacity of the active handle.
