Use the Site Manager to manage the current local siteA managed collection of documents, folders, and resource files on the local file system that you intend to publish as a Web site.. When you open a local site, the Site Manager window opens automatically. If you close the window, any open local site is also closed.

Site Files pane

The pane on the left side of the Site Manager window displays a hierarchical list of the folders and files belonging to the current local site or to a local drive. You can manage the files and folders much as you would with a file manager such as Windows Explorer: move files between folders, rename and delete files, create new folders, and so forth.

The Site Files pane has two operating modes: Site Mode and Explorer Mode. In Site Mode, only the folders and files of the currently open local site are shown, with the site itself as the root folder. This simplifies file and folder management, since it’s harder to get lost in the folder hierarchy. Site Mode is the default mode when a local site is open.

In Explorer Mode, you can browse anywhere on a local drive. The root folder in Explorer Mode is determined by the folder whose path is in the Address box. Explorer Mode is the only available mode when no local site is open.

To switch between the two modes, on the View menu, click Site Mode or Explorer Mode.

Preview pane

The Preview pane is below the Site Files pane. It shows a miniature view of the Web document or image file selected in the Site Files pane. Other file types cannot be previewed, but their modification dates and sizes will be displayed. You can hide the Preview pane by clicking the X-shaped close button. To reveal it again, click File Preview on the View menu.

Site Tree pane

The Site Tree pane shows the site treeThe explicitly defined logical structure (hierarchy) of a site, on which dynamic navigation bars are based. for the current local site. The site tree defines the navigation structure of the site and is the basis of all dynamic navigation bars, dynamic navigation trees, and dynamic banners in the site’s documents.

(When a local site is not open, the Site Tree pane contains shortcuts to common site-related commands. All these commands may also be found in the File menu.)

The nodes in a site tree can be directly manipulated to change the tree. You can drag a node to another place in the tree, select a node and delete it, double-click a node to open the associated document, and so forth. For more information about working with site trees, see “Building the site tree”.

You can change the view of the site tree in two ways: you can switch between large nodes and small nodes, and you can switch between horizontal orientation (root node at the top) and vertical orientation (root node on the left). To access these options, use the View menu or the equivalent buttons on the toolbar.

You can hide the Site Tree pane by clicking Namo Web Editor button show hide navtree Site Manager window(Show/Hide Navigation Tree) at the top of the Site Files pane or clicking Site Tree on the View menu.

Site Tree Navigator

The Site Tree Navigator is a thumbnail representation of the site tree that you can use to navigate a large site tree. To reveal it, click Site Tree Navigator on the View menu.
